Benefits of a Facial

Facials can be very relaxing as well as great for your skin.  Many people do not understand how important a facial is when it comes to detoxifying and cleaning the skin. Even if you do not have blemishes, hyperpigmentation, severe acne, or any other problems a trained professional will help keep your skin healthy and free of skin issues. The best way to find out if your skin needs anything or how it is reacting to hormones, pollution, stress, and other elements is to have a professional examine the tone and texture of your skin. At 48-72 hours after a facial, the skin is hydrated and plump.  In 28-48 days, the long term benefits of a facial kick in when cells begin to regenerate.  Facials should be done every 4 weeks to help maintain the beauty of the skin.  Remember, skin is the largest organ and you need to take care of it.

Will I bruise with Botox

When doing Botox, it is hard to say if you will bruise.  There area areas that have a higher tendency to bruise, such as around the eyes.  There area a few things that will help reduce the chances of bruising, but there is never 100% chance of not bruising.  Many times it depends on the injector, whether they are aggressive with the needle, or do they take their time to look for blood vessels.  Things you can do to help reduce your chances of bruising are – Arnica Montana is a great homeopathic drug sold over the counter.  I typically recommend starting Arnica 3-4 days before injections.  Avoiding alcohol for a couple days before any injections will also help keep your blood from getting too thin.  Do not apply numbing cream to the area where you are getting injections.  Numbing cream causes the blood vessels to become dilated and puts you at a higher risk.  Ice before hand can help, but I never recommend ice after Botox, because it will interfere with the absorption.  If you get a really bad bruise, IPL laser can help break down the blood and help it heal much quicker.

Laser Hair Removal

Laser hair removal is a great way to reduce and eliminate unwanted hair.  Laser hair takes time and patience to see the desired results since hair grows in different cycles.  After about 6 treatments you should be seeing the desired results you want, and then you only need to have maintenance once a year.  Laser hair removal works best on darker hair since the laser targets darker hair. Before your treatment, you should not wax the area.  When you wax the area it removes the hair and the treatment will not be effective.  We recommend shaving the day you plan to have the treatment performed.   We recommend not tanning for 2 weeks prior to your treatment as well, since the laser will have a difficult time distinguishing between the hair and the skin pigment. *burns can sometimes occur over areas where it is bony such as the ankle area.

Botox

Botox is a great way to help reduce and eliminate wrinkles and fine lines.  I typically recommend starting Botox when you start to see fine lines in the forehead or around the eyes.  When adding Botox into your routine of anti-aging the benefits will pay off greatly down the road.  Many people ask what a good age to begin Botox?  Unfortunately there is no right answer since everyone has different types of muscle strengths.  I have had clients as young as 20 begin Botox, and other women starting at the age of 45.  When getting Botox for “preventative” measures, I generally let people know they need a smaller amount and not as frequent.  The best idea is to have a consult to determine whether Botox is right for you. Dangers of Botox… When injected incorrectly, Botox can cause a “Droopy eye” or when injected inside the orbital rim it can migrate into the muscles that move the eye causing a lazy eye.  I have personally injected hundreds of thousands of Botox units and have never had any serious problems.  The good thing is that Botox is not permanent and will wear off in 3-6 months.  I always encourage people to do their research before undergoing any type of cosmetic procedure.  There are plenty of good injectors, but finding the one you like can take time, so be patient and do your homework.

Fractora

Fractora is a great non-invasive skin renovation without surgery.  Fractora is a subdermal tissue coagulation device that bridges the gap between fractional lasers and surgical procedures.  This is NOT a laser treatment.  Fractora has multiple functions such as helping to even out skin texture and improve collagen production.  Fractora is great for removing fine lines and wrinkles, cystic acne, scars, eliminate hyperhydrosis (excessive sweating), skin tightening, and stretch marks. Treatments with Fractora will not cause damage to the epidermis which typically leads to Post inflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIH) as most other lasers will.  Another amazing benefit is that Fractora can be used on darker skin types, which traditionally are not candidates for many laser treatments.

eMatrix skin resurfacing

eMatrix is a great procedure to perform on your face if you are not happy with the texture.  This procedure is safe for all skin types and will not cause hyper-pigmentation.  The treatment is very quick and only requires one office visit each month until you reach your desired goal.  This procedure is great for acne scars, fine lines and wrinkles, as well as tightening the skin.  This treatment may possibly leave your skin a little red for a couple days, and you may see small grid like patterns on your face.  The recovery time with each treatment becomes shorter the more times you have it done.  After the procedure, it is recommended not to place any moisturizer on the face for at least 24 hours, and allow it to remain dry.  This is a great treatment, with fantastic results.

Bellafill

Bellafill is a great filler that will last for 10 years!!  For many people are tired of getting juvederm injections every year, here is a new option…Bellafill.  Bellafill is used in the same manner as a traditional dermal filler to help plump up areas and get rid of deep lines.  Bellafill is also great for filling in acne scars as well.  Bellafill is a collagen based product that also has small spheres to plump up and create new collagen. Belafill is great for areas such as the nasolabial lines (laugh lines), marionette lines, and cheeks.  Bellafill should never be used under the eyes or in the lips.  This filler will end up lasting longer than anything else on the market and save you money in the long run.  Over a period of 10 years, traditional juvederm fillers will cost you $2500-5000, whereas Bellafill will cost you around $1000.

Botox

Botox is a great medication to use to prevent wrinkles from forming or to help reverse the signs of aging.  When I see a client for the first time for Botox, I generally like to start off on the more conservative end of treatment.  I always stress that you can add more, but you can never take it out.  Botox will typically last you 3-4 months.  When doing Botox for preventative actions, I suggest having injections every 6-12 months.  For women who want to turn back time, every 3-4 months is going to be a good amount of time.  If Botox is not lasting at least 3 months, the person injecting it may be using a small amount or have poor technique.  Sometimes Botox can be over diluted (watered down) which will require more units to effectively work and will end up costing you more money.

PDO Threading For Face

PDO facial threading has become very popular in the last few years.  The reason people like it so much is that it is a minimally invasive procedure that helps lift sagging jowls, tighten the skin, lift the neck, plump up the cheeks and create new collagen.  Some results are much better than others, mostly due to technique. I have taken the basic technique I learned and have modified it to get astounding results that last.  I have redone other peoples facial thread lifts due to poor placement and technique.  Another issue that arises that may result in poor results is the use of too few threads being placed.  Many times I see people try and get by with only using 3 or 4 threads to lift a whole face.  Unfortunately that is not enough to get great results.  Generally I will use 8-10 threads per side, and the results will last 18-24 months. Just remember that results depend on technique.

nonsurgical “mini face lift” with PDO facial threading

There has been going popularity for nonsurgical procedures to help people look their best.  Noninvasive procedures offer little to no downtime, less complications and little risk of complications or infections. PDO facial threading uses small surgical sutures to help lift sagging jowls and give you a younger more youthful appearance.   The threads I typically like to use are a large barbed suture, that will give maximum results and last the longest.  Threads will generally last about 1 1/2 years to 2 years when the large threads are used. The PDO thread is placed under the skin through a small hole.  The entry point in numbed with a local anesthetic as well as under the skin.  Pain during the procedure is mostly felt while the numbing agent is being injected. Areas that PDO threads can be used on are the knees, elbows, face, breast lift, butt lift and more.  As like any other procedure, the results are only as good as the person performing the procedure.  I believe our results are some of the best possible results out there.
